Dave & Melanie | Prince George Backyard Wedding

Melanie steps out of the house and Dave’s jaw immediately drops. His jaw closes and his eyes quickly begin to fill with tears. As hard as Dave tries to hold back those tears, one single drop trickles down his cheek as he watches his bride walk down the aisle toward him. Melanie is the definition of stunning. She has the largest smile on her face and takes the time to not only be excited with her husband to be, but to also make eye contact with many of her loved ones in the crowd.

The smiles and laughter between these two all day was an amazing thing to witness. Dave and Melanie were present with each other and you could tell that they were so beyond happy. But something else stuck out to me way more than their love for each other. That was their love for everyone around them. It was their wedding; a day that is all about them, but they were constantly asking those around them if they needed anything. I cannot count the number of times that they both asked me if I needed anything. It was so sweet and thoughtful. They even invited me to join in their picnic in the trail to ensure that I ate something.

The reception was fun and a direct representation of them as a couple. My favorite part of weddings, the personalized details! These two had the honor of cutting their cake with a family heirloom. A Bayonet that Dave’s grandfather had from the war that he and his wife used to cut their wedding cake. After that, it became a tradition with many generations cutting their wedding cake with the same Bayonet. How cool is that?

I had so much fun with these two. I wish that they lived in PG because, like Melanie said to me while we were driving to the reception, “we are pretty much best friends now.”

I hope you all enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them!
